To celebrate Photonics as a rising global technology and Singapore as a rising global city, we present PhotonicsGlobal@Singapore, a unique conference organized by the Singapore chapters of the IEEE Lasers and Electro-optics Society (LEOS) and the Optical Society of America (OSA), with the sponsorships and support of the major Singapore universities, research institutions and related Government bodies.
The aim of this conference is to foster interactions among broad disciplines in the photonics family. The conference will provide a platform for international academics, researchers, practitioners and students working in the Photonics areas to discuss new developments, concepts and practices, and to identify synergies in research directions that will lead to broader and deeper applications of photonics.
The conference will consist of 4 parallel symposiums covering the major areas of Photonics, from fundamentals to applications:
- A: Nanophotonics (Chair: M.K. Chin)
- B: Int'l Conf. on Optical Communications and Networks (Chair: W.D. Zhong)
- C: Biophotonics (Chair: S.C. Tjin)
- D: High Power Lasers and Applications (Chair: P.B. Phua)
Oral and poster presentations are invited and should be submitted to the appropriate symposium. The conference will be supplemented by short courses and a trade exhibit. Besides, visits to local research institutions and laboratories, and short tours of local attractions, including a sampling of the multi-racial culture and cuisines of Singapore, will be a valuable part of the experience.
All presented papers will be included in IEEE Xplore database and indexed by the Engineering Index (EI).
