Nanophotonics is an exciting new frontier in Nanotechnology that deals with the interaction of light with matter on a nanometer size scale. The scope of Nanophotonics is broad, covering all photonic materials with wavelength ranging from UV to IR, and all photonic structures and devices from nanometer to micrometer scale. Topics include, but are not limited to:
- Optoelectronic materials and devices
- Optoelectronic and photonic integrations
- Nanostructures an nanomaterials
- Quantum dot physics and devices
- Microcavity lasers and nanolasers
- Microwave and RF photonics
- Photonic crystal physics and devices
- Single photon sources and semiconductor photon counting devices
- Silicon photonics
- ZnO photonics
- III-nitrides material and devices
- Plasmonics
- Metamaterials and negative index materials
- Photon localization and random media
- Slow wave
- Terahertz photonics
- Ultra-short pulsed and supercontinuum generations
- Nanofabrication processes and integration technologies
A cast of distinguished scientists has been lined up as invited speakers. The keynote speech of the Symposium will be delivered by Prof John Pendry.
